2023 Ford Ranger Review

It is about to become a dark and stormy night. A chill falls around your campground, signaling the arrival of a rain-soaked day near Cedar Pond. You don’t want to head home early since it’s the last camping trip of the season. How can you soak in the last few moments of fall?

If you live near Auburn, Worcester, and Southbridge, MA, hop inside your Ford Ranger. Ira Ford Auburn is showing off the versatility of the truck with our 2023 Ford Ranger review.

Finding Shelter in the Ford Ranger

The 2023 Ford Ranger interior welcomes the change in weather. Before the first drops fall on its hood, you can settle inside thanks to standard front cloth bucket seating with 8-way manual adjustments for the driver’s seat. The Ranger also includes features that are built for the great outdoors:

  • Black vinyl floor covering
  • Intermittent windshield wipers
  • Available 110-volt power outlet

You can feel at home in the great outdoors. The optional dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control system can provide a warming touch or help you keep your cool.

Is it dinner time? An available 110-volt power outlet can run a slow cooker or electric grill, giving you the ingredients for a fun weekend.

Room to Work With

It’s time to run to the store for a few things you forgot to pack. How can you get there before the rain turns I-90 into a lake?

The Ford Ranger seats four or five people, but on this solo trip, you just need space for some canned goods and extra beverages for your cooler. You’ll have plenty of room in your cargo area. The bed of the truck can fit up to 51.8 cubic feet of cargo, while the cabin includes under seat storage below the second row.

As you head to the store, the Ford Ranger navigates the beaten path and reaches the main road. Up to 9.7 inches of ground clearance and a 30.9° approach angle give you ample room to work with.

Available features, like halogen fog lamps, can help you steer through a low-lying cloud. When you return from the store, simply switch on the standard center high-mounted halogen stop lamp to see inside the bed.

Power Moves

The thunderstorm isn’t the only power on the road. Your truck can navigate the journey back to the campground. The Ford Ranger revs a 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 engine that creates up to:

  • 270 horsepower
  • 310 lb-ft of torque
  • 7,500-pound towing capacity
  • 1,905-pound payload

The Ford Ranger has unique talents. Its performance combines with off-road features that help you find your way home in different situations. This includes an available Terrain Management System™ with four selectable drive modes that optimize your performance for snow, mud, gravel, or sand.

Drivers can opt for the available Tremor Off-Road Package. This includes skid plates and FOX™ shots for bumps and stumps on the trail.
