While certified pre-owned vehicles at their core are used cars, they must meet specific criteria to receive this designation, including:

• Gold Certified vehicles must be Ford vehicles that are no more than six years old and have at most 80,000 miles. Blue Certified vehicles can come from other manufacturers and must be no more than 10 years old and have fewer than 120,000 miles.
• Must pass either a 172-point (Gold) or 139-point (Blue) inspection.
